Public Education One of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's cornerstone missions has always been educating the public on boating safety. Our classes will not only give you valuable information, but allow you to interact and work one-on-one with seasoned boaters. Your local flotilla periodically offers educational opportunities for the boating public. Courses are typically taught at The Coast Guard Auxiliary Operations Center at 6595 Lights Ferry Road, Flowery Branch, GA from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Other locations may be designated on the course schedule. Includes Personal Watercraft Certification Boating Skills & Seamanship - Multi session class To register for for a class that you find on the Training & Events Calendar link above Click Here Item of Interest: Many insurance companies give discounts to boaters with a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Certificate. Upon successful completion of the course, be sure to notify the agent handling your boat insurance. Directions: Classes are typically held at the Auxiliary OP Center at the entrance to Aqualand Marina. Take I-985 North to Friendship Road, exit #8 and go west to McEver Road. Turn right. Go approx. 3.5 miles to Lights Ferry Road. This is the road to Aqualand Marina. Their sign is at the stop light. Turn left. Drive down Lights Ferry Road and look for the Aqualand entrance guard shack. About 50 yards BEFORE that, on the left, you will see he Auxiliary OP Center sign. Click here for a map of this location.
